New effect

Players can find the effect of darkness in the Minecraft PE 1.18.0 Caves and Cliffs Part 2. This effect is very similar to blindness but has several differences.

Firstly, it does not deprive the player’s vision at all. But it makes the screen darker. It means players see the space around worse with this effect but do not lose sight completely.

Sculk blocks

In the Minecraft 1.18.0 update, new types of sculk blocks have appeared. The main types are a catalyst, a sculk, and a shrieker. An acoustic sensor has unusual properties. It picks up the vibrations that occur from moving and activates the shrieker.

This unit can impose a darkness effect on the user and makes loud noises. The sculk-catalyst creates other sculk blocks around the place of the mob’s death.

The number of blocks depends on the amount of experience that falls when the creature dies.

Experimental mode
